Time with Rachna Agrawal
Everyone in Room 17 was so fortunate for the time we were able to spend with Rachna! She taught each of us so much about the culture of India and about being a great person. The time spent with Rachna will have a long lasting impact on each of us!
Mrs. Abbott, Ms. Novak, and Mrs. Sibiskie's classes worked with resident artist Rachna Agrawal. The focal point of our studies during the ten day residency was the story of Rama and Sita. The students explored dance, music, visual arts, and learned so much about about the culture of India during this wonderful experience. Watch the video above of the final performance. It was an amazing opportunity for all of the students!
Working with Jedda ~ Ocean Slammin' Artist Residency
Jedda has filled our classroom with song, rhythm, and energy. The children are learning to keep the words entered into a song "in the pocket". We have experienced Tai Chi that relates to our Asian studies, created movements that flow like ocean animals, and have begun to develop an ocean song together. The children are using their ocean animal project work research to support the writing of the lyrics.
