I also used the students’ work in a final presentation using Prezi. The Prezi presentation highlights the steps that we took throughout this integrated, multi-disciplinary project. We presented this Prezi to our Study Buddy class (a 3rd and 4th grade class in the school), and celebrated the culmination of this project by sharing foods from the different biomes!
Tropical Rainforest: chocolate
Chaparral: figs, pomegranates
Temperate Deciduous Forest: apples
Boreal Forest: raspberries
It was truly amazing how much this project took on a life of its own. This project was rooted in the students’ family heritage study, and allowed us to explore the natural features of the environments of diverse biomes of the world. At the end of this project, we realized that the features of the different biomes (climate, animals, and plants) greatly affected the culture and histories of our ancestors.
